The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) announced a recall of Vietnamese-origin bananas imported and distributed by Lotte Shopping Co., Ltd., which operates Lotte Mart, one of Korea’s largest hypermarket chains.

According to the MFDS, pesticide residues of clothianidin and thiamethoxam were detected above the permitted limits, prompting an immediate sales suspension and product recall.
